Secure World Expo: My Experience

What is Secure World ? The Secure World is about connecting, informing and developing leaders in cybersecurity.  To see globally, but to defend locally.  They are cyber threats everyday and happen anywhere.

The Secure World Expo brings vendors and a lot of security and IT companies from all over to share and educate the importance of protecting your company's data and your own personal data as well.     At the expo you can attend classes and listen to their keynotes as well.  There is a show floor also with some demos of software and products from each company if they choose so to demonstrate what they can bring to the table.   As a attendee you could get free stuff and have lunch and even win prizes and attend the after party at the casino.  There were plenty of booths to check out and learn more about each one and their products.

Dr. Charlie Miller, Uber Engineer at the SW Keynote (Image Above)

One of the major highlights of the even was seeing and learning from Uber engineer, Dr. Charlie Miller.  This gentleman was the guy that hacked into a jeep unit.  Somehow, found a loop hole into the system to where he was able to control the jeep right from his computer and laptop.  He also showed the different types of chips that are in the vehicle that he hacked.  Which was very interesting to see.

While we all should know that enterprise security is being disrupted.  Knowing how to identify the indicators that have been compromise.  Privacy and data are a major issue.  Automation is the future we are in now.  Having single sign-on will offer impressive new capabilities to being secured and protected on your network.

So defend your data and become a hackinnator.

SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick 3 in 1!

The SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick is an awesome accessory for your mobile devices and your PCs.  This device can run off WiFi and just off a wireless connection.  You can use it the old fashion way on your PC by inserting it into a USB port on your desktop or laptop to download or copy files to this device.  You can use it Wirelessly between your phone or tablet as well,  How this works with your mobile devices are that you need to download a specific app from the App Store or Google Play called "Sandisk Connect".  Now once installed, you will to push a power button on the USB drive to connect.  Once connection is successful, you will be able to stream music, movies, files, and photos wirelessly to your phone, tablet, or even PC.  This is a great device to bring along with you on trips, to friends house, or just when you are on the go.  Not only that, no need to ever worry about cords or other plugins that you need to connect to your PC, phone or tablets ever again.  This USB comes in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB of memory.  You can order this device now online from BestBuy.com, Amazon.com, and Ebay.com.  Now prices may vary.  The full review is coming soon.

ANKER Power Port Qi Wireless Charging Unboxing

The Anker power port Qi wireless charger is a very unique charger.  It is shaped exactly like a hockey puck.  Just a little thinner. In this case, thinner is good.  It comes with a micro USB cable and instruction manual and a warranty paper as well.  With this device it requires to be plugged into an outlet at all times in order for you to charge your device up.  You also need a device that is compatible with this qi charger.  If your device isn't compatible, then the charging wont start. If you see a light that turns red, that means it is plugged in and turned on.  If you see a light that is blue on the charger, this means that the charger is in use and your phone or tablet should be charging.  This charger can be found on Amazon.com just for only $11.99.  So you can head on over to Amazon right now and get this device.  Full review coming soon.

New Nexus Phones Are Coming Soon...

September 29 is approaching soon and we're certain that Google is holding a special event to reveal new products. A press invite has been sent out already, inviting the media to join the company for some "tasty treats and much s'more". That obviously means the Android Marshmallow will be previewed, new products will be unveiled, and probably some s'mores will be served.
In this upcoming event, we're expecting to see the new pair of Nexus phones, one from Huawei and another one from LG. We're guessing a new Chromecast too with Chromecast Audio or maybe some announcement about the Project Aura
So, Rumor has it that the two new phones will be called the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X from Huawei and LG, respectively. The 6P will be bigger with a 5.7-inch screen while the 5X will have a 5.2-inch display. We also heard these two might be ready for pre-order by October 13, complete with a fingerprint scanner, a laser focus system on the LG Nexus, and maybe biometric security to the recently rebranded Android Pay, ready to rival Apple Pay andSamsung Pay.
There also that Nexus Protect option sighted on Google Store. We're guessing it's a phone protection plan but I guess we'll just have to wait and see until the 29th of this month.

Moto G 3rd Gen Has Received a New Software Update

The Moto G 3rd Gen is rolling out new update.  Of course we know Motorola is working very hard along side Google and the others with bringing you the latest security updates as well due to the stage fright episodes.  So we all should know this is as expected by plan. But this isn't the only update that is included with the one from Moto G 3rd Gen.  There are two other notes and updates included.

The second one is a minor update for the camera app from the Moto.  For some Moto G 3rd Gens, they did not include a Night Mode in camera for low light scenes.  So the Moto G 3rd Gen now includes Low Light Mode in the camera app, This will be shown off in a video real soon.

The final update is some minor bug fixes and other stability improvements within the phone system. So you will have to check all these out for yourself.

So if you are rocking the Moto G 3rd Gen phone check for an update to see if you got it.

Google App Update Brings Now On Tap and Android M App Drawer

Android M app drawer (image above)

Google App Update 5.3.19.19 brings some familiar features and functions that we have seen earlier this summer.  For the Android M Preview 3, Now On Tap is officially usable. But reports have been saying that is still a little buggy and not as responsive.  But, it is there now and you check it out yourself.

Also what comes along with the latest Google App update is that for any user using a older version of Android (meaning Kitkat and up) you now get the Android M app drawer. This app is the latest build, which gives you a vertical app drawer instead of a horizontal drawer.

New Widget Drawer as well (Image above)

The widget section in the update has some minor changes as well.

Below is also a video to show hands-on of the latest update and how it will work. If you want the APK link it is down below too.

I Wrote My Own Code To Flappy Bird!

Flappy Bird remixed using code on the Code.org.  This game was very addictive and it still is today.  Although there has been some criticism going around due to the fact it had landscapes and pipes that came straight out of a Super Mario Bros video game. But it is very fun and anyone can pick this game up and play it. Not only that, but you can create your version of the game and share it with your family and friends so everyone can see how easy it is to code.  I left a demo of my version of the game and if you mines, I also left a link below where you can give it a try yourself. Now lets all get to coding.

Google's Project Fi 1 Month Later - My Impressions

Project Fi is one month old for me. I know users have had it for 2-3 months now.  Pretty sure there were a lot of issues and difficulties in the beginning.  Well, this is my experience, my side of the story and my honest opinion so far.

Day 1, I get the sim and the welcome kit. I will leave my unboxing videos and reviews below.  So I set up my account or finish setting up on my Google's Nexus 6. I created me a new number to use on Google Voice. At first I didn't think I would like this  service dealing that it was using Wifi and two carriers (T-Mobile & Sprint).  Now, I know you all thinking, why did Google choose those two carriers instead of At&t and Verizon? Right? Well T-Mobile is HSPA and Sprint is CMDA networks. How does connecting between 2 different networks wrok? Well Google gives you this special sim card that will conncet between them both whenever one gets a better signal, itll seamless switch to better network with good signal.  This I have witness with all four of my eyes.  Sometimes it would switch me while Im even in home.  But, at home, I'm on Wi-Fi.  This really didnt affect me as much.  It pretty easy to understand. Now, next my full experience with the network.

I live in East Saint Louis, IL, and I normally have T-Mobile as the better Network with LTE.  But, I seen sometimes it would switch me to Sprint even when the coverage map online tells me that T-Mobile is the stronger LTE signal. But, thanks to an app called "Fi Spy" that I downloaded from a Google developer, I was able to connect to the better Network in my area. Now, another instance,  while I was visiting a friend in Belleville, IL, it seems that Sprint LTE signal was stronger in some areas of Belleville than T-Mobile was. Which was true. I also had great signal when I was in Collinsville, Caseyville, Fairview Heights, Ofallo, IL., and St. Louis, MO with the T-Mobile LTE.    But, I had no problems sending or receiving SMS messages via Project Fi. This is what you will see if you have on all of the Project Fi settings turned on in messaging apps and phone calling and via Google Hangouts and your stock dialer app. With my Google Voice number, I have added call forwarding as well. So when I am away from my phone, I can answer on my PC or tablet. Very useful at times.

Now for the wifi hotspots.  Google says that with this service to keep your Wifi settings turned on at all times.  Like I mentioned earlier, your phone can be used over Wifi.  It detects what Wifi signal is free and open to use. So, Im in a StarBucks, it will connect me seamlessly to StarBucks Wifi connection. This also happened to me as I was in Best Buy and as well as JC Penny's.  Even when I seemed like I was at my weakest signal, I was able to stay connected due to a Wi-Fi hotspot that connected me.  I also have this free Wifi Hotspot app finder called "WiMan" which finds me free wifi in the area and allows me to download a map of the wifi locations for offline use. Oh, dont worry, Google is on the back end protecting all of my data via VPns and keys.  As I said earlier too, I was on WiFi all the time at home.  So no need to even have had my data turned on.  You get WiFi calling also on Google's Project Fi. Things just seemed  much in placed.

I have been on the $20 unlimited talk and text which everyone gets the basic plan and than I added 2GB of data for an extra $20.  So for unlimited talk and text and 2GB of data, my plan for the month was $40.  I know for some 2GB of data isnt enough and that people probably can go through that amount in one day.  But, with Google's Project Fi you get credited back for what you dont use.  I have only used up 1.4GB out of 2GB.  What does this mean? I will be credit back $6. So this month my bill was really $34. Now, can you say the carrier you with will do that? Plus, Google doesnt throttle your data at all.  So, if you do go over your limit, Google will only charge you for what you used.  Google only allows you to use up 10GB of data each month and that would be a cost of $100 for the data plus $20 for just unlimited talk and text.  But, you think about it, since google is running off Sprint and T-Mobile's towers, you are paying for 2 carriers in one. That is a pretty cool deal. Which in the end this could be cheaper on an individual plan without unlimited.  But Google's phone plans aren't for everyone as i seen a lot of users and reviewers down play Google's plans and services. I must admit, this is not for hardcore data users.  What I mean by that is that you if use more than 10GB of data each month, than its not for you.  But, if you are like me and always around Wi-Fi and can stay under 10GB of data, then you will love this phone service.

My final thoughts about Google's Project Fi is  for me, it just works! It goes out and it keeps me connected.   The prices for these plans are great, for my living it is just right for me.  Google's Project Fi is the best phone service that I have ever had. It is also the cheapest.  I definitely would recommend this service to anyone that wants to try something new and different.  Just a reminder, that Google's phone service will ONLY work with the Goole's Nexus 6.  But, luckily enough Amazon and Best Buy both dropped the prices now on the Nexus 6 to $349 for the 32GB and $399 for the 64GB model in colors blue and white.  The Nexus phones are also unlocked as well so you don't have to worry about being stuck in one carrier and as for  Google's Project Fi, you are using 2 networks in one. This is how you kill 2 birds with 1 stone.  This is my 30 day review on the Google's Project Fi.  Let me know your takes on it.

Moto G 1 Month Later Review

The Moto G 3rd gen is one of the best low-midrange android smartphones you can buy right now.  This phone is very customizes from the very start.  You can buy it in black or white.  You can also swap back covers to your liking and add engravings to it.  You can even change how it boots up.  This phone is waterproof too.   When removing the back you will have a slot for the sim and a slot for the microSD card.  This phone has a 5 inch 720p display.  Has a speaker in front on the bottom chin part.  It comes with the Moto Assistant and I love it.  Very helpful at times i need it to work. It has stock and pure vanilla Android.  No bloatware or skins.  Just some useful apps from Moto and of course the main Google apps that needed.  For this phone to have SD410 and only 1GB of RAM, it is super speedy and fast.  The performance is great and it just works all around.  Not to forget to mention that  this phone is unlocked and I can take it T-Mobile networks or At&t networks.  It has carrier freedom.  If that what you are missing, then you need to take a look into this phone.  The pictures I took with the 5MP front facing camera showed really great! The 13MP rear camera is as the same it is in my Nexus 6.  This is a close call when it comes to the rear shots. But the cameras wont leave you disappointed at all.  The battery life.  Can't complain at all about the battery life.  It only has a 2400 mah battery, but this battery last me a day and a half! My Nexus 6 can't even last a day without it being on a full charge.  So the battery life is great on the Moto G.  The call quality is awesome as well.  Everyone heard me crystal clear.  The one speaker on the bottom of the front of the phone pushes out pretty loud for video and music.  Great clarity. I have nothing negative to say about this phone! It just works! Oh... On more thing! That price tag! Its just only $179! What more can you ask for? Nothing further more to say.

Incoming 5G on Verizon?

Verzion Wireless is testing their 5G Network

Its crazy how we were just so use to how faster 4G and LTE was compared to 3G and the download speeds are.  Then Google had come alone for the internet Google Fiber with super high speed internet, but it is only in selected areas.  As we all know that Verizon is the number 1 carrier when it comes to having the best network in  the US.

According to Verizon, the earlier test of 5G have come to be about 30-50 times faster than the current 4G/LTE. Also this 5G network is said to even be faster than Google's Fiber service.  If it has real speeds like that, who needs internet? Why not just be powered by data?  The new technologies are very powerful and it seems as now it doesn't have any limits or boundaries.  So far can networks go with 5G?  How will 5G be actually effective in our everyday lives?  What would a consumer benefit from 5G?   These are some questions that need to be taken into consideration as we prepare for the next generation in mobile.  Not exactly sure when 5G become available to everyone, but will assume that 5G is coming soon.

Updates Rolling Out For Nexus 4, 5, 6, 7 (2013), and 9

Google Nexus 6

A little over a month ago, Google had announced that it would be rolling out monthly security updates due to the StageFright scare.  Now its officially in full force for the security updates. The security updates are for minor bug fixes in the system.

+TMobile has come out announced that their support page for the Nexus 4, 5, 6, 7 (2013), and the Nexus 9 will all be receiving updates today.  Now the Nexus 4, 5, 7, and 9 will be getting  jump on demand to build number LMY48M, since the Nexus 6 is going to LYZ28K, which is only made for the Nexus 6.

We would think that security updates wouldn't be such a big deal on Android.  Little do some know, and sure it seems these devices shouldn't be getting viruses.  But like any other technology in the world, they can be hacked.  But it is very important that all data and information that are personal to you be protected.  So being secured is very important today.

For those of you with a Nexus device, make sure you check the security update sometime today, if not now.

Check updates by going to Phone Settings> touch About phone> System updates

Meet Nextbit's Smartphone "Robin"

Nextbit Robin photo by: Nextbit

Nextbit's Robin is a Android smartphone and is only just a kickstarter right now.  But the Nextbit company promise that this phone will help kill 2 birds with one stone.  What is this referring to you asked? Glad you ask that question.  See for years, we have been purchasing phones with just a set of storage or phones that have no microSD card slots. Also a phone that runs out of space for memory.  With Robin, this is to solve your worries and stress about not having enough memory or running out of memory.  Robin's solution is in the cloud. Now, before you all start to complaining how expensive a cloud service is and that you need to delete apps and all other sorts of stuff to have space for another item to be downloadeed and installed onto your phone, this phone will make running out of space history.  This phone will free up space by offloading apps and photos and anything else that is not needed.  So far this phone has received great praise and has already surpassed its funding goals.  It has been funded over $800,000 dollars to date! If you are a person that fears of not having enough space or memory on their phones, then this smartphone might be your future purchase.  So would you purchase a phone that powered by and depends on the cloud for storage management or would you rather have all storage that is built into the phone or a micro SD card?

Moto X Force to cost $628 UDS

Moto X Force: Photo by +upleaks

Not too long ago, they were rumors about another  Moto phone  called Bounce or Moto X Force.  This is a device that is supposed to feature a shatterproof glass display.  For some people the Moto X Play and Style didn't seem like the main flagship coming from Motorola.  Not only that but also the prices of the Play and Style are under the cost of normal flagships would be.  If the rumors are true as they have come from @upleaks, this new phone is to retail for the price of $628 US dollars.  While the Moto X Pure Edition price started at $399.99 without a contract and unlocked, the Moto X Force seems like it would be an Exclusive phone on Verizon and could be Droid Maxx 2 or Droid Turbo 2.  So, based on rumors and speculations, would be interested in this phone and if it was an exclusi?
