HP Envy 15 x360 Convertible PC Review

HP Envy 15 x360 Convertible PC

I truly am a HP fan or fanboy I guess you can say.  I   have been using HP PCs since I can remember. My parents bought me my very first HP PC desktop when I was in the 9th grade. But I also used Dell PCs as well in my late high school years and early college days too. My 9-5 was the same way as well, Dell and HP.  It is really hard to choose which tech computer company is better to pick products from. But hey, they both are amazing at the laptops and desktops.  Just wanted to give you a little history of my experiences with HP PCs before we get to the main event.  Now lets talk about this beast of a product.  The HP Envy 15 X360 Convertible PC.

The HP Envy 15 X360 Convertible PC is a 2 in 1 PC.  It is a laptop and it is a tablet as well.  It can flip back 360 degrees. This means you will be able to use it as a tablet. Then you when you need the keyboard, you bring the screen back to its normal set.  But that not all it can be used for.  It has other modes as well. These modes are tent mode, entertainment mode, productivity mode, and presentation mode. This will all be shown in a video demo coming soon. So the real reason you all want to read about this is what  it comes with. So frist, lets talk about the specs.

SPECS.

The HP Envy 15 X360 Convertible PC has a 15.6 FULL HD Touchscreen display.  This screen is also huge in tablet mode.  Also comes with a HD web cam that records in 720p.  The screen resolution is 1920X1080.  Which means in other words the screen is in 1080p HD.  Now I know that is not the most powerful resolution, but te 1080p should be standard  by now, as we have smartphones that can display 2K res and TVs with 4K and 5K monitors like iMac and Dells.  But the 1080p on a laptop and tablet are still great for viewing web, movies, Youtube, and etc.  This has a 4th generation Intel Core of i5 processor (1.7 GHz).  But it can boost up to 2.4 GHz of turbo.  It has 750 GB of Hard Drive space.  This should be more than enough memory to the basic user needs. It also has 8GB of RAM for speed.  This is pretty good for multi tasking and casual gaming and watching videos. You shouldn't any lags at all.  This comes with full Windows 8.1 and 64 bit. Definitely would recommend 64-bit to anyone.  So you are able to get the best out of Windows 8.1.  It has WLAN and Bluetooth, and also has Touchscreen and multitouch enabled.  There are also 3 USB ports, 1 2.0 USB and 2 3.0 USB ports, an HDMI port, a full SD card slot, a microphone, headphone jack, a volume rocker on the side, and a standard ETHER net port.  One more thing, the keyboard has a LED backlit light on the inside. So you are able to type in dim lighting. Cool, huh?

FEATURES

It has 360 degrees of versatility. Its designed to stand out from the crowd.  Work in notebook mode, watch in stand mode, play in tent mode and go in tablet mode.  HP Control Zone Trackpad.  This will allow you to navigate Windows 8.1 with ease. This product will also allow you to use Office 365 for free 30 day trial, Mcafee anti-virus for free 30 days and HP Cloud.

NOTEBOOK MODE

TABLET STAND MODE

360 DEGREES

TENT MODE

PROS

The good things about this PC is that it has more than enough memory and power for any user.  The keyboard feels great when typing. The touchscreen is very responsive and you can even use a stylus on it to write and draw things with.  The sound quality is amazing, forgot to mention that it has beatsaudio by Dre. So you get incredible sound when it comes to media.  The trackpad is cool. You can do a lot of commands with it.  The 360 degrees is just great, so many ways you can use this PC. Last thing, the price! Now if you not able to buy a Surface Pro 3, which they both pretty much do the same thing, this device cost $799.99 in Best Buy and $799.99 at HP.om

CONS

Now there are a few minor set backs.  But what device doesn't have any at all?  The battery life. I didnt mention the battery life at all. Well the reason being is because on a heavy usage without the plug, you will only get 3 hours! The most hours I got without it being charged up is about 5-6 hours on light usage. That means only surfing the web or checking emails and reading in tablet mode, doing school work, etc. It does get a little uncomfortable holding in tablet mode as this device weighs 5.5 pounds. It is pretty heavy in tablet mode. Also somewhat of HPs design with this device especially it looks uneven and not level off right like Lenovo's Yoga Pro device is. But to be honest, it really doesn't bother me as much.  If you are worried about the keyboard being damaged when having it in tablet mode, it's best if you place the device on an even surface or flat table. In tablet mode, you won't have to worry about the keys setting something off because the keyboard will turn off.  One more thing, you are a hardcore gamer, that likes playing call of duty and Halo or Gears of War, this device won't be able to run those games efficiently. But the Windows games and Xbox Live games play just fine. Like Fifa 15 and Halo Assault and Asphalt 8.

CONCLUSION

In the end, this device will get any task done. Whether you have it in tablet mode, notebook mode. Whatever you want it to do, it will do. Maybe even better. Looking at the Macbook? Well can that allow you to write and use to apps at the same time? Can it turn into a tablet as well? I think you all know what this convertible is able to do by now.  I love this device. While I only had it for only about a week, I have been getting the most attention since I made the switch to a Hybrid PC.  Any questions or concerns, leave a comment below. Thanks  Video review coming soon.

Windows Store Is Down!

Hello everyone, for all of you that are trying to access or download or even install windows store apps, the store is having some issues. You are not alone.  The Microsoft Windows Store servers are down as this has been mentioned online hours ago. From recent reports disclosures, this is only affecting Windows 8, RT, 8.1 and 10. No one has mentioned anything about the windows phone app store being down. There is nothing users can do but wait on Microsoft to come up with a solution to fix this mix up. Hopefully it wasn't hacked or breached. The thought of it sounds likely, but not confirming on that.  So, everyone, be patient and hang on tight. But if you want to be on the safe side and take measures, change the passwords as well. Just in case. Thanks for coming by and taking a look.

The Truth About Facebook Messenger App

Facebook App itself has now grown to over 1 billion downloads on the playstore! My goodness, that is a lot of downloads for an application, but at the same time not surprised if you consider how many people using the app or even log into Facebook. But Facebook has it good times and its bad times. It was suppose to be a social network that you could communicate with your fellow classmates and alumnis. But that wasn't enough as it attracts your family members and friends, colleagues and associates. Then it spread out to grow businesses and even hollywood. So facebook has a lot going for itself as people stopped using MySpace. What a joke! Right? Well, actually no. But you some people use it for good and some use it just for pure evil. Shame on you guys. While others use facebook to communicate with loved ones and close friends far away.  Facebook isn't that bad at all. So why are people hating Facebook nowadays so much? Is it due to all the new updates and changes and increasing of users? Well, maybe. But one thing for sure people are hatred towards is the Facebook Messenger app! Just not too long ago the CEO of Facebook change the messenger app and made it become a stand alone application to download. So while on the actual Facebook application for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, you wont be able to message anyone on facebook unless you are using the stand alone messenger app. For that reason there has been an increasing amount of users downloading it on to their device. Now this app is at half of billion downloads. But this isnt the point. The purpose of this happening is because this app is suppose to be another option of messaging and calling and communicating with the people you want to talk and text to. It is also a free texting app that won't take minutes or force you to pay extra if your rate plan goes over from texting with your regular phone message system. You can picture message with it, you send audio messages and even sticker messages, to show how you feel about something. There is even a option for group chatting if you are into that. Invite only people you want to share your messages with. For those of you who don’t know, Google and Microsoft has their own messenger apps too. They are called Skype and Hangouts. They all pretty much doing the same things now. So why are there so many users and people being frustrated and confused of about what the purpose of using this messenger app? Why are there so many people angry, mad, and upset? I have no idea or clue to the confusion. But you all want to know the truth? I just told you why. Oh, that the CEO probably is trying to take over the world through Facebook. Now could this happen? Well in the internet world and mobile, possibly. Never say never. So, to end this on a good note, the Facebook messenger app is exactly just that, a messenger app. There nothing crazy fancy about it. But if you think otherwise and can prove me your points? Feel free to leave a comment below. Thanks.

Why I am Switching To Just One Main Device For Everything

Hello readers, viewers, subscribers, and followers.  This is my rant on why I am not going to be using anymore basic or low budget devices from now on. I believe I should've stopped this a while ago sometime.  Using 3 tablets that don't run full power of a laptop or PC with great processors and speed and great performances is not a easy task to carry 3 devices around and try using them all in between time for certain things. When I can trade them all in and pinch in a few hundred dollars to get a PC or 2 in 1 device I truly need and that will last me a long time. Approximately anywhere between 4-6 years. The laptop I had been using was only 2GB of RAM and 250GB of Hard drive disk and had it for exactly 4 years! No matter what Ive done to it, it just keeps getting slower and slower and slower. At the time now using an Toshiba Encore 2 10.1 Windows 8.1 with Bing, it has only 1GB of Ram and 32GB internal memory which in reality it is only 25GB but could extend external memory up to a 128GB SD card. But for what this device is worth, I was only able to use basic usage, like watching YouTube, playing casual windows gaming, surfing the web, and of course using Office 365 and such.  But for gaming as Ashphalt 8, you won't be able to play this game on this device as it requires 2GB of RAM. Geez! Not all tablets are even at 2GB of RAM yet. iPad Air 2 just now booted up to 2GB of RAM, while the Google HTC NEXUS 9 is at 2GB of RAM, but that even low for Google or even Android tablets which have been on the market for over 3 years now. But the Toshiba Encore 2 was ok for just basic functions and it is a good affordable Windows 8 tablet with Bing. But just dont expect to do anything powerful on this device. Now on to the iPad Mini.  The iPad Mini is just a great feel in the hands and it is easy to hold and carry in one hand.  My issues with the iPad Mini is that there is no customization, low Ram, no expansion for external memory except for iCloud and Google Drive, and all the bugs and errors with iOS8! I really don't like my experiences with using the iPad. It has been just a headache.  All the lags and stutters and apps closing out on  me. Just a pain with it. The iPad apps take up a lot of memory. Using only 16GB will only leave you with just 12GB plus that horrible 1GB of RAM. But at first Steve Jobs said that the iPad only needed 1GB of RAM. I believed that at first until last year when Tim Cook and Apple announced the 128GB model which cost about thousand bucks. The price alone really isn't worth it, unless you are a Sheep and true Apple fanboy, then go for it.  But even with the changes and enhancements of the new iOS 8 and even the new released of the iPad Air 2, I really can't say that people can be truly productive and work just from the iPad, not even 80% of the time. So the iPad isn't able to do it all.  Now last  but not least, the Galaxy Tab 4.  The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 is really a great looking tablet.  It really is. It is slim, sleek, a decent back cover, the display really sticks out due to the AMOLED, and decent performance. The speeds to me are a little slow. Due to it being a Google Android tablet device, there is lag and even apps forced closed and just stops all at once from working. Once again I come across with a device with low storage and RAM. While I am able to play some decent gaming and watching movies and music, this device also has slow downs and disappointments for me. So, I'm just going to stop playing around with the low budget. For some reason tablets still have a long way off on being a replacement for the laptops and desktops. To some it may be able to pass for a replacement, but for others, not so great. As for me, well I now just see that what I need is way more than just some tablet with only my basic needs but I want something that I can push to its limits. I already push these devices off the edge, no notes with them either. That is an inside joke. So with tablets and PCs, it will matter what you use. Forget about the pricing and think about what is important and fits your needs the best.  So by the end of the week, I will have an update on what I am going to go with as my one main PC or tablet or hybrid device for a while.  Stay tuned.  Subscribe to my blogspot so you can keep up to date on news and information as I bring it here.  Thanks for your viewing and reading.

Microsoft Bing Rewards You

Hello everyone, hi again. Welcome to the wonderful world of the World Wide Web! It has began to expand and soar to new heights! Now, for some may see it as good and some may see it as bad. But there will always be something good to come out of it. Today, I discuss with you all about Microsofts search engine Bing. Bing will be the next big thing after using Google search engine. It may not be number 1 or ever become number 1, but there is a lot of good that comes out of using Bing. Bing will reward you with prizes! Yes, you can earn free gifts and prizes for using
Microsoft search engine to surf the web and research topics and things you love the most. This is a tactic that Microsoft using to bring users to search and earn. So in many ways then others, you can say Microsoft is giving back and to others are being paid to surf the web using Bing. Maybe they are on to something with this strategy. I don't know about you, but I'm taking my talents and use
Microsoft search engine Bing. As in the words of the NBA player Lebron James  rant in 2010 when joining the Miami Heat. So I ask you all, have you bing yet? If not, I would seriously consider doing so if you are on the Internet all the time and surfing the web. To me, life can get better when you are being paid to search the web. If you are interested in using bing and signing up to earn rewards, go to www.bing.com/rewards

Free data for life

For more than several months now I have experimented with this company called Freedompop. Freedompop is company under the Sprint's Network. This company is great for its cheap prices for home hotspots and on the go hotspots wifi devices. They even sell smartphones and tablets as well for a reasonable price. Now, what so different and special about Freedompop? They are the first company to give the world FREE Data for Life! Yes! You read right, free data for life. Not only free data, but with the smartphones, they offer you free texting and calling for life as well! Yes, this too. With either of your choices, whether it's the free data for life or the free minutes and texting for life, you can't go wrong with either one of these choices or decisions you choose. So what does the free data mean? On monthly, the data given is 500 MB per month for free! Now to some, that's not a lot but to others this may take them very far. So while you feel you maybe second guessing yourself, they do give you free offers to add on extra data for free. Yes, there are ways to add more data per month to the already free for life 500 mb per month. You can download apps, share data with friends, refer family and friends to the company and sign up to free offers. Now for the smartphone deal, with the free minutes and texts, you are given 200 minutes and 500 text per month, free for life. Now, I know you are saying "that's not enough!" and that maybe so to some as well. But just like with the offers of data, you too can share and download to add on minutes and text for free as well. As they are many companies and many offers with these calling and texting apps, you must ask yourself "which one should I pick?" For me, I'll go with Freedompop. Just picture your life without having ever pay for a phone bill or data plan ever again! So if you are very interested in this plan or freedom of data movement, click the link below.
